They say the souls of the dead are the closest when Old Man Frost lies upon the land. A Dark time indeed but one we must all face time and time again.  Knowing their is a light waiting for us makes it easier, but the journey is hard none the less.

This is a selection of writings that now seem light years away.

Written when the ignorance of youth was heavy upon my soul and nothing seemed to have meaning. The following poems were an outlet for my fear, my rage, my hopes, and my dreams. This is the loss of my innocence

*Note: In my haste to get this site up and running ...Some links have yet to be created.

And if you have not already filled your cup to overflowing enjoy this selection of artworks...

Love....This was a teenager thing...I had just lost my first true love and was in the midst of creating art. While sharpening my pencil one day, I accidentally cut the top of my finger. Seeing the Blood I thought of the old ink and quill I used in art classes. Lucky for me the cut was small and didn't bleed for long. As you can see I ran out of "ink"....lol

The inhuman condition... .... This piece represents the loss of our humanity and independent thought as we slowly merge with technology. Becoming a hybrid race totally dependant upon the machines we have created. This was to become the basis of a concept for a musical piece which was never finished but always on the back burner.  This piece was inspired by the Novel "Nuromancer" which in a later incarnation became the movie we all know as "The Matrix".

Chalklines .... This was a piece created during my first meeting with adobe Photoshop and a giant computer stylus slate owned by some friends of mine in the late nineties. I hated the pen but I fell in love with Photoshop.  One plane is left alone showing the part of me that recognizes my irrational  fear of flying. Note: pre 911

Triangles .... a basic triangle. Those who truly understand will see the meaning in this simple piece of work. A moments pause for some a lifetime for others

Also belonging to this selection are the stories that make you jump when your home, alone at Night. I hope they scare you as much as they have scared me. (many nights are left before this section is open. Much transposing from paper to text required.)

So many songs...so little space :(

Here are a couple of songs which also belong on the dark side of the moon. Just to let you know I'm a guitar player not a singer...lol

Fallen .... Holy Wars? What is so holy about war? A question I ask myself time and time again. This song originally written about the constant struggle on the Gaza Strip, took on a whole other meaning almost 2 months after it's completion. when the towers fell in New York. Creeepy! This song was recorded in Ottawa using a 333Mhz Computer with cakewalk pro audio

Tears of War .... Another song about war. This song was inspired by all the brave Newfoundland soldiers who fought in the front ranks and died for their belief in freedom and a protect a tiny country in the Atlantic Ocean. That's right, for those of you who don't know, Newfoundland was a country once upon a time. Recorded in 2002 in Labrador City with the same crappy computer

Betrayed .....This song was written by a friend of mine who asked me to play lead guitar. The song was recorded the summer of 2003 in my friends basement in Labrador City.  I had no control over the final mix and personally thought it was dubbed  to death. All the lead guitar work is mine and I love the solos I created for this song. The Band was called "SLOW"

"Torn" .... This was written by a band in Ottawa called "The Haunting", When I met up with these guys they had a music video in circulation on Much Music. For Some unknown reason they lost their lead guitar player and I was just about to move to Ottawa. I download one of their songs on my computer. Found a piece of their music with a keyboard interlude and recorded over it with a mic straight into the computer. It got me a 3 hour audition, but the band dismembered before they could decide on a new lead guitar play. Oh Well, on the bigger and better things.

To help commemorate my Journey with old man Frost I have recently acquired a new tattoo. I call him Leviathan. It is still a work in progress.  For me it represents the passing of dark times, facing up to your fears, and the future which can only get better from here on in. Check back for more tattoo pics. A Passion of mine that began at the age of 8 and is stilling growing well into my adult years
